The certification test is given via computer-based testing (CBT) at specified testing sites. In Kansas, the only testing site is in Overland Park. If you are located in a part of Kansas where it is more convenient and cost-effective for you to test in another state, you can do so and results will still be sent to the Kansas board.
To find testing sites in other states, go to www.isoqualitytesting.com and go to the tab that says testing centers up at the top. Then go to the small heading in black right underneath the top tabs, and at the far right, click on Locate a Testing Center. Then you can use the map that comes up click on the link that says Click Here To Locate A Testing Center By List and then use the drop-down menus.

Testing can be done year-round, but Kansas has set a deadline of testing January 1 – July 31 in order to allow time for the candidate to prepare his or her initial application by the end of December. If you would test between August 1 and December 31, you would be put into the next cycle and your certification would begin a year later. For example, if you take the test between January 1 – July 31, your certification would be approved by the certification board at its annual meeting the next January and you would be retroactively certified as of January 1. However, if you take the test between August 1 and December 31, your certification would begin January 1 of the following year. You would have a one-year gap before your certification begins.
The test costs $130. If you take it and don’t pass, you have to wait 60 days to take it again and will need to pay another $130 fee.
To register for the test, contact Carol Spiker at 785-296-2269 or at email@example.com
She will pre-register you and you will receive the information you need by e-mail.
